Saturn was originally called Kronus when it was first spotted by the Greeks. However, it was changed by the Romans to Saturnus. Saturnus was the son of Uranus and Gaia and the father of Zeus (Jupiter).  Saturn was also the God of agriculture. To honor him, every year in December the Romans celebate the Saturnalia festival.
